This week has been so heavy. On Tuesday night my friend Tiffany lost her little boy, Sully. He was nine years old and died in an accident. A couple hours before that, he was a normal kid at scouts. On Sunday we chatted and he told me all about his birthday. He laughed with his friends on the back row. He sang all the songs in primary. And now he's gone.
Tod and I have been sick all week over this. Our entire community is heart broken. It's reminded me of these scriptures in Mosiah:
"...and now, as ye are adesirous to come into the bfold of God, and to be called his people, and are willing to bear one another’s burdens, that they may be light;
9 Yea, and are awilling to mourn with those that bmourn; yea, and comfort those that stand in need of comfort, and to stand as cwitnesses of God at all times and in all things, and in all places that ye may be in, even until death, that ye may be redeemed of God, and be numbered with those of the dfirst resurrection, that ye may have eternal life—"
A couple weeks before he died, Tiffany texted me:
"I think Sully is giving a talk today in primary...what's the theme?"
The theme for primary this year is:
I am a child of God.
And that's what his beautiful talk was about. He was a child of God on this earth and is now literally a child of God eternally.

We are mourning the loss of Sully and we are mourning for the pain his family is feeling and will feel for a long time. Sully was like a bright light wherever he went; I pray his family will always feel his light and love. Whether you know them or not, pray for Sully's family. The Mainor and Harris family -- we send all our love. Sully -- you will be so missed.
