I'm not sure why, but the laundry fairy always skips my house too. The good news is, once the kids get a little bigger, they can start doing their own. Hailey has been doing hers since she was 8. That means only a year and a half until the twins are doing their own too.
That's not much ... try doing the wash for 8 people (6 kids!!). I was always washing & folding clothes ---every single day. Actually it was important to me to stay on top of it back then. I'm worse at it now for some reason.
