Don Johnson

When Tod and I became engaged, I had the following (almost) word-for-word conversation with my mom.  In my dad's presence.

Mom: So who are going to be your bridesmaids?
Me: I don't want bridesmaids.
Mom: So what do you want your sisters to wear at the wedding?
Me: Black.
Mom: What do you want the mothers to wear?
Me: Black.
Mom: So everyone in black?
Me: Yep, everyone in black.
Mom (to my dad): Ron, do you have a black suit for the temple?
Dad: Yes.

Everyone in black.  Everyone in black. Everyone in black.  I was on repeat all summer long.

The day of the wedding came.  Everyone showed up in black.  Except my dad who showed up in his cream Miami Vice suit from the 80s...elbow patches and all.

Pictured left to right: Kari (in black), Kristi (in black), Mom (black), me, Tod (wearing black), Don Johnson, Tommy (in black).

I've since forgiven him and would give anything to see him again.  Even in that suit.
